Stopped in Texas in Palo Duro Canyon. The second largest in the US. The campground is in the bottom with a 10% grade. Better check your brakes first!  Even hotter but lower humidity. Still 100 deg is hot.

Albuquerque is cooler.

Here's a storm in AZ.

It missed us.

Hit several parks today. The surprise was El Morro National Monument. It's an oasis in western NM where people carved names in to the sandstone walls near the water pool, including, petroglyphs from native Americans, Spanish conquistadors, settlers, etc.  it's absolutely amazing to look at graffiti including names and dates in both English and Spanish and be able to relate it to history lessons from school.

Isn't the Southwest amazing?  I mean, not for driving because its pretty boring and windy, but neat treasures all over!

The photo looks photoshopped but it was real, as was the beer!  (It was a micro brewed Hefeweizen). The South rim is cliffs and tourists. The north rim is relaxing on a porch drinking in the scenery.
