Title: 2011 Acadia NP Rally Documentary Video
Post by: joonbee on November 13, 2011, 06:59:29 pm
Hello all,

I was forwarded this from Tim Domiano (Production Manager for Outback). It is not quite the finished product that will go to their website, but it is still pretty cool. For any of you that were still on the fence about going to see this beautiful place, here ya go.

Enjoy.

great video; Keystone should have you all on their payroll... and none of it was acting. I love camping with you guys no matter what I'm in... Just give me a warm campfire and good company; and that's what the people here are. Sorry I missed Acadia last year, the place just looks so inviting..God willing we will make it there in the near future.

I like the video, very much. A lot of the material that the KeystoneRV camera guys caught on camera could easily spawn a very personal side, as well as a video supporting the product.

Tina is not a fan of here picture being taken. She is now not a fan of herself on video either! BUT I thought it was nice. Not sure how I feel about the footage Lance took of me finding that flower. He saw me do it and had me do it again so he could film it. So that was a restaged shot. Feels a little funny and somewhat corny looking at it.

Hey! Did we have fun doing this? I did! It is nice to see so many of us in it, the comments, the theme of family and fun. Nice job Keystone.

there are so many good/funny/sentimental one liners in there, we may have to start a poll

You're right Clark. With the HOURS of film they took they have ammunition for many different tacks on a theme.  How many other manufacturers may follow suit?

You have to put yourself outside of being an owner and look at the video in the guise of being a potential buyer. Powerful stuff.

Yes i agree and have - It is really put together nicely to promote their brand........... you have all the elements there ......not only to sell your brand but to also sell "camping" that video would make me want to get my family into camping........ if i wasn't already.....

Well of course...you were called the best dad ever!   8)  But it is true that it also promotes camping in general as well.  My little snippet certainly wasn't in reference to my Outback  :P

I can't take full credit for that, it was a combined qoute out of a conversation with Jelly Donut. He went out for the first time with his for one night and said it felt like he was gone for a week.

as was Eric's ending with the fire glow.......

I like the whole thing....

Yeah the video was great and the ending was very cool. I agree with the fire glow scene, pretty neat filmography. This will be as memorable as the trips.

We will quote from this for years to come, just like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Great movie by the way Paul, one of my favorites.

Agreed Jim- My favorite too-

Percy Garris: [singing] Oh don't you remember sweet Betsy from Pike / Crossed the high mountains with her lover Ike / Two yoke of oxen and big yellow dog / Called Shanghai rooster and one spotted hog / Hoodle-dang-hootie-i-doh, hoodle-dang-hootie-ay, hoodle-dang-hootie-i-doh, hoodle-dang-hootie-ay / Shanghai ran off and the cattle all died / last piece of bacon that morning was fried...
Butch Cassidy: [interrupting] I think they're in the trees up ahead.
Sundance Kid: In the bushes on the left.
Butch Cassidy: I'm telling you they're in the trees up ahead.
Sundance Kid: You take the trees, I'll take the bushes.
Percy Garris: Will you two beginners cut it out.
Butch Cassidy: Well, we're just trying to spot an ambush, Mr. Garris.
Percy Garris: Morons. I've got morons on my team. Nobody is going to rob us going down the mountain. We have got no money going down the mountain. When we have got the money, on the way back, then you can sweat.

I confess, I actually do have the script, and signed by Redford and Newman, along with several other cast members. I got it as a gift from a family member, who knew this movie was my first western that I loved as a young, impressionable 7 year old. Now dont get me quoting Monty python and the holy grail....

ARTHUR: Old woman!
DENNIS: Man!
ARTHUR: Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there?
DENNIS: I’m thirty-seven.
ARTHUR: What?
DENNIS: I’m thirty-seven. I’m not old!
ARTHUR: Well, I can’t just call you ‘Man.’
DENNIS: Well, you could say ‘Dennis.’
ARTHUR: Well, I didn’t know you were called ‘Dennis.’
DENNIS: Well, you didn’t bother to find out, did you?
ARTHUR: I did say sorry about the ‘old woman,’ but from the
behind you looked—
DENNIS: What I object to is you automatically treat me like an inferior!
ARTHUR: Well, I am king...
DENNIS: Oh king, eh? Very nice. [stops, as do ARTHUR and PATSY] An’ how’d you get that, eh? By exploitin’
the workers, by ’angin’ on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic an’ social differences in
our society! If there’s ever going to be any progress—
WOMAN SERF: Dennis, there’s some lovely filth down here— Oh... [to ARTHUR, with respect] How d’you do?
ARTHUR: [To WOMAN] How do you do, good lady. I am Arthur, king of the Britons. Whose castle is that?
WOMAN: King of the who?
ARTHUR: The Britons.
WOMAN: Who are the Britons?
ARTHUR: Well, we all are. We’re all Britons and I am your king.
WOMAN: I didn’t know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous collective.
DENNIS: [To WOMAN] You’re foolin’ yourself. We’re living in a dictatorship, a self-perpetuating autocracy in
which the working classes—
WOMAN: Oh, there you go, bringing class into it again.
DENNIS: That’s what it’s all about! If only people would—
ARTHUR: [To both] Please, please good people. I am in haste. Who lives in that castle?
WOMAN: [To ARTHUR] No one lives there.
ARTHUR: Then who is your lord?
WOMAN: We don’t have a lord.
ARTHUR: What?
DENNIS: [To ARTHUR, ceasing his muck-piling] I told you. We’re an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in
turns to act as a sort of executive-officer-for-the-week.
ARTHUR: [To DENNIS] Yes.
DENNIS: But all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting.
ARTHUR: [impatient] Yes, I see.
DENNIS: By a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs—
ARTHUR: Be quiet!
DENNIS: —but by a two-thirds majority in the case of more major—
ARTHUR: Be quiet! I order you to be quiet!
WOMAN: [To DENNIS] Order, eh? Who does he think he is?
[DENNIS goes back to muck-piling.]
ARTHUR: [To WOMAN] I am your king!
WOMAN: [To ARTHUR, stopping her muck-piling] Well, I didn’t vote for you.
ARTHUR: You don’t vote for kings.
WOMAN: Well, ’ow did you become king then? [goes back to muck-piling]
ARTHUR: [Staring off into the distance] The Lady of the Lake [angels sing], her arm clad in the purest, shimmering
samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Arthur, was to carry
Excalibur [singing stops]. That is why I am your king!
DENNIS: [Ceasing his muck-piling again] Listen. Strange women lyin’ in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a
system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical
aquatic ceremony! I mean, wha if I said I was your emperior because some mositened bint were to lob a simitar at me, they'd take me away!
