First trip of the year!! Natural Falls State Park - Oklahoma

(1/3) > >>

nibs75:
We are heading out as soon as I can get out of work for a short 4 day weekend to a small state park in Oklahoma. Natural Falls State Park, just west of Siloam Springs, Ar. As usual in spring, we may get some rain, but I don't care! I'm ready for a campfire and a cold one!

Dogs have been ready to go since I brought the camper home on Monday. I got it de-winterized, checked tire pressures, flushed the hot water tank and all water lines, fired up the heater and the water heater, filled propane bottles and ensured batteries are fully charged. Don't think I've forgotten anything, but am open to suggestions for other last minute items to double check.

good for you, getting out now.  i am chomping at the bit but weather here is still way to unsettled.  can't wait to get out !

have a great shakedown trip.   8)

what will be the beverage of choice ?????

nibs75:
I'll try and get some pix up after work tonight. It was very pretty in the area, and the hiking trails were great as well! We also took a short drive to Gentry, Ar to see the Wild Wilderness Safari. We also enjoyed that and felt like it was worth the fee to get in! Lots of animals, we were there for nearly 3 hours.

Beverage of choice? Well, I am a beer drinker, but prefer dark heavy beer that I can generally only find in bottles, and don't usually take bottles camping. So I opted for some fosters cans, and miller lite for back up. My wife chose something I'd not seen before and cannot recall the name at the moment. It was in green cans and was darker than she would normally choose. I'll have to ask her what it was.

It was t-shirt and shorts weather there Friday and Saturday, then light rain all day Sunday, and it cooled off Sunday night. Monday morning was stocking cap weather. :) When I got back to Wichita, it was supposed to get down to 28* that night!! So I re-winterized the water system late that night.

I did have one minor issue while towing, but I'll write that up in a separate thread.
