Led Canopy lights
« on: June 21, 2015, 09:16:55 pm »
My camps came with LED lights under the canopy and they are to bright. How would one know if they are capable of being dimmed? Can I add a dimmer?

Subbed.  I call ours the Party Lights and dance obnoxiously when I turn them on.  12 yr old daughter gets soooo embarrassed lol.  I have no idea why - nobody around to see hehe.

Should be able to replace on/off switch with a dimmer. The ones I installed were aftermarket and I wired a dimmer switch in line.

Of course I am by no means an engineer of any kind so hopefully some who is will be back from camping soon.

As I understand it , some LEDs are capable of being dimmed and some are not. I don't want to go digging into my main panel until I know first if possible.

I used something like this SUPERNIGHT (TM) 16.4FT SMD 5050 Waterproof 300LEDs RGB Flexible LED Strip Light Lamp + 44Key IR Remote Controller https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B2F3KDQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_RVVIvbQRPJY5G

And yes they are adjustable like 6 or so brightness levels.... Not dimmable as in full range but yes dimmable :)

I have been replacing high hat lighting in home..... That is fully dimmable...
