Aluminum Foil Goodies
« on: July 21, 2011, 02:57:23 pm »

I enjoy these pocket type meals. Some may be well familiar with them. I also make side dishes from time to time using the same method.

Thinly slice 1 medium potato per person.
Add 1 onion, thinly sliced as well.
Layer the potato and onion on a large square of tin foil starting with either butter or olive oil on the bottom.
Salt and pepper to taste or add your favorite spices.
Seal the aluminum foil by folding the edges together, sealing the pouch.
Place on a grill on medium high heat, away from direct flame.
Let this cook for about 15-20 minutes dependant on the quantity in the pouch.

a quick test by pushing in on the pouch to feel for done-ness will help you to guage when to pull the foil off the fire.
 Unfold the pouch and enjoy.

You can do this with vegetables, fish, meats, and entire dinners if you wish.

Clean up is a breeze. Paper plates in the fire, tin foil in the trash....Done!

AKA Hobo Dinners - very tasty, and definitely the ultimate in easy clean up.  My version uses a medium potato cut into medium size cubes, onion chunks, sliced carrots, hamburger or boneless chicken breast, and season to taste.  I like to use chunks of red and/or green peppers and mushrooms as well.  Place on the coals, cook 15 minutes on each side, then unwrap and enjoy with your favorite beverage!  :D

Paul, when you say "throw some up", I trust you mean posting them on the website... cause if I saw Tom hurling dinner packet ingredients, I'm pretty sure they are not going to seem appetizing!
